International Area Account Manager

The International Area Account Manager is responsible for the execution of the Sales Strategy for the Product Portfolio in the assigned area, particularly Chemical and Biochemical Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API’s). This with the primary aim to maximize the revenues and sales margins by exploring and exploiting commercial opportunities.



  • Responsible for execution of the yearly sales and margin objectives for Marketing &Sales within the responsible area and manage in such a way that the sales objectives are met
  • Explore New business opportunities and drive business growth
  • Analyze assigned customer base to identify and develop new opportunities and re-evaluate existing opportunities
  • Pursue new business opportunities consistent with company’s capabilities, and develop value propositions and action plans to increase the project portfolio/pipeline
  • Identify customer and market needs and translate them into opportunities for the internal organization
  • Meet all customers' needs based on identification, presentation and sale of products to the customer
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of the product line, understanding the needs of your customers, the competitive landscape and knowing how to sell Aspen API's products based on their requirements
  • Interact with internal organization
  • Stay up to date on market developments and new technological innovations
  • Maintain CRM for customer accounts and maintain reporting systems for planning and forecasting purposes


  • HBO/University degree, preferably Chemistry and/or Economics
  • Minimum 5 years of sales and marketing or business development experience preferably in a business-to-business / pharmaceutical environment
  • The ability to serve as a business partner, and build relationships based on trust, engagement, and long term commitment
  • The ability to travel internationally up to 30%-35% for customer meetings and exhibitions
  • Communicate effectively and ability to function well in a team environment
  • Excellent English and Dutch written and oral communication skills are a must and preferably Portuguese and/or Spanish
  • Ability to communicate in a proactive and solution-focused manner
  • Ability to work independently and manage one’s time
  • Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
