S&OP Manager (ENG)

This role is part of the Management team within the Supply Chain Department and is responsible for leading supply and demand planning, as well as the Customer Service desk. The S&OP Manager is responsible for structuring the demand and supply planning processes and acts as the key person for maintaining and driving the S&OP process within Aspen Oss. The S&OP Manager serves as the liaison for the Site Leadership Team with the S&OP plan and execution.

Here’s what you’ll do as a S&OP Manager

  • Review forecast demand versus actual demand, understanding changes and trends.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to ensure that promotions, visible impact orders, and new product forecasts are included in the aggregate demand.
  • Notify Scheduling and Manufacturing of significant forecast or capacity changes in a timely manner.
  • Communicate with Manufacturing about promotions, new product forecasts, and launch timing updates.
  • Assist the commercial team in resolving key supply-demand/service-cost issues.
  • Document assumptions, promotions, and adjustments to forecasts using input from Sales and Marketing teams.
  • Facilitate monthly demand forecast aggregation, including consensus between functions and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate, facilitate, and document regularly scheduled planning meetings.
  • Review, store, and backup final adjusted and unadjusted statistical forecasts.
  • Create and drive continuous improvement of world-class demand planning and S&OP processes.
  • Measure, control, and improve S&OP plan accuracy through clearly defined metrics.
  • Lead network optimization processes to mitigate costs and maximize service.
  • Develop capacity simulation processes to run sensitivity analysis for growth.
  • Keep the Site Leadership team informed of major changes or concerns.
  • Create an action plan with responsible SLT members to achieve financial targets during supply disruptions.
  • Professionally and ethically manage all direct reports.
  • Optimize customer order management to achieve the company’s customer service level target.
  • Manage change control from the environment (customer requirements, quality requirements, business processes, supply network changes).
  • Ensure relevant systems are effective and efficient.
  • Manage team performance. Comply with the goal setting and performance measurement cycle. Initiate corrective action if necessary.
  • Optimize the team’s performance. Weekly reporting on relevant performance indicators (including contribution to site metrics).

You as S&OP Manager

  • MBA or master’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or equivalent.
  • 5-10 years of experience in Supply Chain (Demand Planning, Supply Planning, and Inventory Planning in an environment of both manufactured and sourced finished goods) and/or related supply chain management, including design, implementation, and execution of S&OP-related processes.
  • Strong intellectual curiosity.
  • Strategic and tactical thinking.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both oral and written. Knowledge of Dutch language is an advantage.
  • People management skills.
  • Strong organizational skills in strategy, communication at all levels, and execution.
  • Strong leadership skills. Ability to lead, contribute, and influence others in a team-based organization.
  • Excellent people skills, project management skills, with an ability to openly convey information to team members in a timely, concise manner.
  • Working knowledge of modern manufacturing, material flow, and improvement strategies and the ability to integrate those into the operation.
  • Demonstrated understanding of financial systems and the key drivers within the manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding of applicable computer systems, such as Microsoft Office, Excel, and function-specific software.
  • Proficiency with SAP software and Advanced Planning Systems.
